*Note: Keep in mind that it takes a while between the initial sign up until approval and then to receive your first book. I signed up my daughter in November 2011 and she received her first book today. We were approved in February. 


I also signed up every one of my friends and family who has kids. Cuz c'mon who doesn't love free books.

If you have a child between the ages of 0-5, did you know that there is a program out there that will send your child a FREE book every month? That’s right, the books are absolutely free. All you have to do is sign up!


Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a nonprofit organization that has been working with local sponsors throughout the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom since 1996 to provide free books for children.




HOW IT WORKS:

1. Go to the Imagination Library website to see if there is an affiliate in your area. If there is not, you can gohere to learn about the steps involved in bringing the program to your community.
2. Enroll your eligible children. You will need to provide their birthday, gender, and address. If you have multiple eligible children, you can sign each of them up.
3.  Get your books! It’s that simple. Every month, each of your enrolled children will receive one book in the mail. The first one will be The Little Engine That Could and the last is Look Out Kindergarten, Here ICome. (If you have multiple children participating in the program, the extras make great gifts or donations.)

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:

• The books are selected by a Library Committee each year. Books are selected to be age-appropriate and to foster a love of reading and learning.
• If you have multiple children enrolled in the program, they will not receive the same books, except forThe Little Engine That Could and Look Out Kindergarten, Here I Come. All the other books they receive will be different.
• The books have the Imagination Library logo on them but are otherwise the same books you can purchase in your local bookstore or on Amazon. Some of my girls’ favorites have been Ladybug Girl and Bumblebee Boy, Tiger Can’t Sleep, and Pigs Love Potatoes.

Now if I had stopped there, my goal of staying under $10 would have been reached with a total of $6.15. My mom remembered last minute that she needed drano and it breaks my heart to have to say we paid full price for it.

Even when you go in with a plan, things change and you just kind of have to go with the flow. Still it breaks my heart, but you gotta do what you gotta do. And I don't want to leave my mom with a clogged drain.

*Note: After ringing up all my items and coupons, the system froze. Apparently, Walmart has a "new" policy where we can not use more than $40 of coupons in a single transaction. A manager was needed to override the error

No adverse events associated with this action have been reported to date and the risk of a serious adverse medical event is remote.

New P&G Coupons and Samples

The new Proctor and Gamble coupons and samples are available again. You just need to log into your account and you should be able to choose from several different coupons. I can see Gain, Dawn, Pampers, Olay and more right now.

I think you can only pick one sample and one coupon per household and this offer changes quarterly. The trick to the P&G freebies is that these do tend to go really fast. So the more popular offers may run out and you will no longer see them as available when you log in.
